Wise is required to hold accurate and up-to-date information about our personal and business customers’ addresses at all times in order to provide our services. Below you can find more information on the types of addresses we can accept from personal and business customers, as well as why we might be requesting additional/updated information from you.

Personal customers
Acceptable address types
For personal customers, you must have a physical address. This should be the home or apartment where you reside. Your physical address cannot be any of the following address types:
PO box
Mail forwarding or receiving service
Virtual address
Business registration agency
Attorney office
How to add or edit your personal address
On Web:
Go to your name in the top right corner of your account
Go to Personal details
Select Edit details and enter your password
Select Edit details again
Scroll down and enter your physical address
Select Save and you’re good to go!
On the app:
Go to your profile icon in the top left corner of your account
Go to Personal details
Scroll down and enter your physical address
Select Save and you're good to go!
Keep in mind you might still see a banner on your Wise account as it takes some time for us to review the changes. Once your physical address is verified, the banner will be removed.

Business customers
Acceptable addresses
For businesses, we need to collect two addresses:
Registered address — Where your business is officially incorporated and the one listed on your official business registration document (for example, on your Companies House registration).
Trading address — Where you actually run your business day-to-day (your office, home, shop, etc.).
These may be the same address, but it’s perfectly acceptable for these to be different.
We accept trading address documents in the name of your business:
Utility bills: gas, electric, broadband / internet, or landline phone (no mobile phone bills)
Lease, rental, or commercial agreement
Bank/credit card statements
Business licences or registration documents
Tax documents (tax filing, tax returns, correspondence from the relevant tax authority, for example HMRC or IRS)
Business insurance policies (commercial, umbrella, business owner’s liability, professional)
We accept documents in your name:
You can use personal documents in your name if you're a sole trader, a sole proprietor, a significant owner of the company (25%+ share), or an ID-verified director of the company:
Utility bills
Council tax bills
Bank statements
Tenancy agreements
ID with your address
HMRC notifications
Your trading address can’t be:
A PO Box
Mail forwarding or receiving service
Virtual office
Solicitor's or attorney office
Business registration agency

How to add/edit your business address
On web or app:
Select your business name in the top right corner of your account
Select Business details
Under Trading addresses, select Edit
Enter your physical trading address
Select Save

Why do I need to update my address?
We know that you provide information to us when you join Wise, but sometimes we need to request up-to-date information about your identity.
We may ask you for this to comply with regulatory requirements. If you receive an email from us about an address update, please follow the instructions and provide the necessary information and documents to continue using your Wise account.
When do I need to update my address?
Please check the email that we sent you for more information on the date you need to update your physical or trading address by.
What happens if I don’t update my address?
Unfortunately, if you miss the deadline we’ll need to suspend your USD account details.
What happens once I’ve updated my address?
We’ll review your updated address to make sure that it complies with our regulatory requirements.
