What should I do if I get an 'invalid address' error?

When you're signing up, changing your details, or adding a recipient, we need to check your address. As a financially regulated institution, we have to make sure your address is valid and exists.

If our system can't find your address, you'll see an error message. Below you can see how to fix it.

How to fix an invalid address error

Most of the time, this error can be fixed by double-checking the details you've entered:

  1. Check your postcode and city. Make sure they’re in the correct, separate fields.

  2. Enter your full street address. In the Home address field (sometimes called Address line 1), enter your complete street name, building number, and apartment or unit number.

  3. Don't mix details. Make sure you haven't entered your postcode or city in the Home address field.

  4. Check the country. Make sure you've selected the correct country. This option might be on the same page or the previous one.

Good to know:

  • If your address doesn't have a house number, you can use a house name or another official local identifier.

  • It can help to look up your address on Google Maps to see how it's officially formatted.

What if my address is correct?

In some countries, if we can't find your address, you'll see a button that says This is my correct address.

If you're sure that all the details you've entered are correct, you can click this button to continue. Please note that if you do this, we may need to ask you for a proof of address document later on.

What if I'm changing my country?

If you're changing your country and see this error, the same troubleshooting steps apply. Just make sure you've selected the new country correctly on the form.
