How do I replace my expired ID to get a Wise card in the US?

To keep your account secure and comply with regulations, you need a valid, unexpired ID on file to order a Wise Multi-Currency card in the US.

If your ID has expired, you won’t be able to order a card until we’ve verified a new one. For security, you can’t upload a new ID yourself in the app or on the website, but our support team can help you with this.

How to submit your new ID

  1. Reach out to us on our Help Centre page

  2. Select Something else as the contact reason

  3. In the email, say ‘I need to update my expired ID to order a US card’

  4. Our team will then open up the option for you to upload your new document securely

What documents will you need?

To make the process as fast as possible, please have the right documents ready. The requirements depend on your citizenship status.

  • If you're a US citizen, you'll need to provide your Social Security Number. If it can't be verified, we may ask for a photo of your ID and a selfie, plus a US proof of address. Learn more about what documents we accept to verify your address

  • If you're not a US citizen, you must provide an unexpired ID document issued by a country other than the US. This can be a:

    • Passport

    • National ID card

    • Driver's license

Once we verify your new ID document, you'll be able to go back and order your card.
