Passkeys are a secure authentication method we offer. They let you log in and approve 2-step verification with your face, fingerprint, a device PIN, or a hardware security key without ever needing to type a password. Setting up a passkey using a credential manager lets you sync passkeys between multiple devices.
Setting up a passkey
To set up your passkey:
- Go to your name or initials in the top corner
- Select Security and privacy under Settings
- Select 2-step verification
- Select Passkeys
- Confirm it’s you using your existing 2-step verification method
- Go through the browser or device flow to finish setting up. You'll need a compatible browser and device (listed below).
- Once you've set it up, Passkeys will be your default 2-step verification method.
You'll be able to use your passkey for any action that needs 2-step verification.
Log in with a passkey
To log in with a passkey after you've set it up:
- At log-in, select Log in with passkey at the bottom of the page
- Go through the browser or device flow using your face, fingerprint, or device PIN to finish logging in
To log in on new devices, you'll need to complete additional authentication challenges. If you can’t access your passkey, you can still use your email and password on the login page.
Manage your passkeys
To manage your passkeys:
- Go on your name or initials in the top corner
- Select Security and privacy under Settings
- Select 2-step verification
- Select Passkeys
- You can: - Add an additional passkey — just select Add
- Rename an existing passkey — just select Edit next to the passkey you want to rename, select Rename and Save

Remove a passkey
To remove a passkey you've set up:
- Go on your name or initials in the top corner
- Select Security and privacy under Settings
- Select 2-step verification
- Select Passkeys
- Select Edit next to the passkey you want to remove
- Select Delete and confirm it’s you using your existing 2-step verification method
If you've removed a passkey from your Wise account, it won't work anymore. Even if you still see it as a login option, you won't be able to use it to log in and might get an error.
To remove the passkey from showing as an login option, you'll need to delete it from your credential manager.
